Outrageous Women! A literary salon
Updated February 27, 2019
In anticipation of International Women’s Day, the Gibsons Public Library hosts “Outrageous Women,” a literary salon featuring local writers.
Do you have a piece of outrageous writing you’d like to share? We invite prose submissions (fiction or non-fiction) of up to 2000 words or song (please send web link). Submissions must have some outrageous element (form) or be based on an outrageous woman or event (content), and may pertain to something at any point in women’s history.
Eligibility: Open to all women, including transgender women, regardless of publication history.
How to submit: Email Andrea Routley. Attach your submission and include your name and brief biography (paragraph or less). Please also answer this question in one or two sentences: “What makes your piece outrageous?”
Deadline for submissions: February 15, 2019
Presenters will be chosen by a committee of women writers, who aim to select a diversity of content, style, and perspectives. This first “Outrageous Women” was produced by Caitlin Hicks in 2018. The Gibsons Public Library thanks Caitlin Hicks for accepting our invitation to co-produce the second annual event here at the library, a truly outrageous place!
