Teddy Bear Sleepover & Book Making Session 2

Updated July 31, 2019

August 1, 2019 @ 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM

This program is now full. However you can register for the wait list and you will be contacted if a space becomes available.

Aug. 1 & 2,  10:30 – 12 pm (ages 4-8)

This is a brand new program this year. It is an opportunity for young storytellers to create their own picture book with the help of a volunteer Youth Leader. Participants will bring their teddy bear (or other stuffed animal) to the library for a sleepover on Wednesday evening, where they will be photographed having fun and getting into mischief with other stuffed friends. The following morning, participants will come back to the library to be reunited with their stuffy, see the pictures that were taken during the sleepover, then stay to create their very own book about their stuffy’s sleepover.

Participants will have two mornings to complete their book, in collaboration with a Youth Leader. Participants do not need to be competent writers but should enjoy inventing stories and be comfortable being left for an hour and a half without a parent.

This is a 2-day program that will be repeated twice during the summer. Participants are expected to attend both days of the session they sign up for and to bring a small snack.

Session 1: July 11 & 12 (Teddy Bears dropped off Wed. July 10 between 4 – 5:30 pm)

Session 2: Aug. 1 & 2 (Teddy Bears dropped off Wed. July 31 between 4 – 5:30 pm)

Space is limited for this program so register early on the library website.

Remember to bring your child’s Summer Challenge Pamphlet to any program or event, so they can earn a sticker for participating and increase their chances of winning a prize at the SRC Wrap-Up Celebration on Aug. 31.
