Our Mission

The Gibsons & District Library Foundation was established in November 2001 to provide financial security to the Library, above and beyond government core funding, through the support of individuals and the other organizations. The Gibsons Library Foundation will facilitate and promote educational programs by the provision of enhanced facilities, materials and equipment, encourage community outreach programs for those currently not able to use the Library and receive gifts, bequests, funds and property to hold, invest, administer and distribute for the purposes of the Foundation.

About Gibsons & District Library Foundation Society

Your gift to the Gibsons & District Library Foundation allows us to continue with special programs to address child and adult literacy and fund services not covered by core funding such as access to technology or to offer support for the growing needs of the library. The Giving Tree Fundraising Campaign

The library desperately needs a new state-of–the-art multimedia presentation system. It will not only support ongoing digital literacy programs, it will also enhance the library’s ability to provide the best possible presentations, readings and audience participation experiences for its patrons of all ages.

The goal is to reach $6,500 by May 31st and to-date we’ve raised over $1,800. There’s still a significant way to go but we’re confident of the campaign’s success.

The new system will include everything required for a professional, portable system including:
– 1080p resolution Projector
– 10” Compact Speakers
– Wireless Microphone system
– Portable 16:9 Projector Screen
– Multimedia Laptop

Donations gratefully accepted at the library, or online at www.gibsonslibraryfoundation.ca.
